The gas consumer goes green.
Surprise: Hummer is back with a new all-electric pickup. GMC is reviving the brand with the Hummer EV, a premium electric super truck that is both tough and powerful. It is expected to be released in the United States from 2022.
After a 10-year hiatus, Hummer is set to make a dramatic comeback under the umbrella of GMC, which is turning to the electric vehicle market in an attempt to relaunch the brand. Despite being electric, the vehicle retains many of its fundamental characteristics, with a still rugged design and plenty of power under the hood.
This GMC Hummer EV will be launched with a special “Edition One” model, equipped with three electric motors for a total power of 735 kW, or the equivalent of 1000 hp, and an impressive range of 560 km. In addition, the battery will be compatible with fast charging stations, promising a range of 160 km in just 10 minutes. The Edition One will have removable roof panels and feature the latest version of General Motors Super Cruise driver assistance technology. Production is expected to start in late 2021 with first shipments expected the following year to the United States, where it will be priced at US $ 112,595 (around HK $ 872,639 excluding tax).
A more affordable model, with just two electric motors (with power as yet unconfirmed), is expected by 2024, priced at US $ 79,995 (around HK $ 619,981).
