Ubisoft Skull & Bones pirate game postponed to 2019-2020

Skull bones, the open-world pirate adventure announced by Ubisoft at E3 2017, has been postponed to the publisher’s 2019-2020 fiscal year, Ubisoft told investors today. The game was initially mapped in the last six months of this year.

“In line with previous practices and given the acceleration of our digital transformation, the growth in back-catalog sales and the excellent momentum of recent releases, Ubisoft has decided to give itself more time to develop. . Skull bones to provide gamers with an even more engaging experience, ”the company said in the earnings report.

Skull bones was presented last June in Los Angeles during the Ubisoft press conference. It features tactical naval combat in its single-player and multiplayer modes, which included five-on-five player-to-player action. Players use a variety of ships and their cannons to subdue and board other ships, where encounters end in hand-to-hand combat.

Ubisoft Singapore is the developer; the studio worked on 2013 Assassin’s Creed 4 The Black Flag, which featured many pirate-themed nautical fights. Skull bones has been announced for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
